This Eufy video doorbell has been the top pick of most of the users having built-in local storage. Most video doorbells have cloud storage and they usually store up to 5 minutes of video and upload the log videos to the cloud which also requires an internet or hotspot connection which may be costly.
Video Quality
This video doorbell camera provides a Crystal-Clear 2K Image and has High Definition 2560 x 1920 resolution. We have also observed some pictures having distortion were cleared by its camera due to advanced HDR and Distortion correction feature.
Network Connectivity
Eufy’s Video Doorbell like many internet-supported devices connects with only a 2.4GHz network and you cannot connect with your 5G connection simply. Thankfully, the 2.4GHz transmitter in this device is excellent but it would be nice to have the new connection compatibility.

Local storage of 4GB has been with this device. Unfortunately, We have experienced a shortage in storage and we cannot expand it. But unlikely cloud storage in other video doorbells, there is No monthly fee and no privacy hassle.
Battery
Eufy has provided the battery which may have a life of up to 6 months like many video doorbell cameras.
Motion selection
Eufy has a motion-detection box and we have manually and freely defined it by pulling string dots around. There are app settings for adjusting the target area and settings for blanking out a small specific area. Such as a shrub that blows in the wind. Its AI does recognize “humans” as opposed to other possible factors I’ve heard set off alerts on other systems, such as rain, birds, etc.
Note:
- Electronic Chime is Included in Eufy’s video doorbell and supports 8 fun and holiday-themed ringtones and adjustable volume level.
- You must note that its Installation requires existing doorbell wires at 16-24 VAC, 30 VA, or above.

Cons

Network connectivity
The Wize is not 5G compatible so we managed to load it on 2.4GHz. We have set up the doorbell and connected to the internet easily. The performance is awesome overall.
Storage
We did not find any local storage in the doorbell. So, all the data has to be uploaded to the cloud. We need live streaming and sometimes, an original photo/video is necessary in case of emergency especially. So, you need an internet connection to support the doorbell to upload data.
Battery
I currently have had one of the Wyze outdoor wireless cams outside my home for the last 5 months and it still has yet to need a charge (approx 6 weeks so far).
Usually, the battery life ranges from 3 to 6 months and we can charge it via USB cable.
Weather Resistance
It is weather resistant and made durable enough to avoid any interference from elements.
Personal Experience
- I really like it and I replaced it with my previous Doorbell. I really liked the smaller footprints of the Wyze along with the chime that’s included with it. Chime is also programmable to different tones.
- We haven’t observed any lag in the video from real-time. The video quality is awesome despite of night darkness.
- We have paired multiple Wyze chimes with our doorbell which was of course to notify in different rooms.

When I purchased the Ring Doorbell 2 and saw that it would want Ring’s $3/month storage plan. I just calculated that into the overall purchase cost and feel it’s a reasonable charge for what you get. Your plan is according to recording of your Ring doorbell whether you want a 24/7 recording or not.
Battery
It is powered by a battery and it charges via a simple Micro-USB, plugged into a charging brick like a cell phone brick, and Ring battery duration is good.
You can charge your Doorbell without moving the device using the quick-release battery pack.
Motion-Activated Alerts
Get alerts on your phone, tablet, and PC when anyone presses your Doorbell or triggers the built-in motion sensors.

- Our doorbell is recorded for about 30 sec and can be activated in one of three ways: by pressing the ring button, having motion, or pressing “live view” from your phone.
- We can hear and speak to visitors from your mobile device using the built-in microphone.
- We store all our videos in a Ring Cloud using a good WiFi connection to the device. If your Ring is facing trouble in connecting with an internet connection, the Blue light on your Ring will go upwards.

Will ring doorbell work without internet
In this modern age, mostly home automated devices work on the internet which is why now manufacturers prefer the devices which work on the internet and our lives also have become so dependent on these devices.
So, a question arises here, do doorbell cameras work without the internet? Doorbell cameras are a little different from traditional doorbells and their working phenomenon operates on different logical systems. But, they have some additional features and advancements too.
Because being the homeowner, the security of your home and that of the occupants of the home are non-negotiable. If you have also made up your mind to install a doorbell camera and you are experiencing bad or no internet service, there is good news for you that you can install a doorbell camera and it does not need a wi-fi connection only.
There are doorbell cameras that can operate on other network services as well like cellular data 2G/3G/4G and you can also connect through your mobile hotspot we will guide you through some doorbell cameras which work without an internet connection.
How to Use Video Doorbell Cameras Without Internet
i)Use the cellular network for doorbell camera
If you can’t have access to a wi-fi internet connection, you can use cellular data in the form of a hotspot which you can connect to your smart video camera. It works effectively with your smart doorbell and you can avail all the features of live video streaming and real-time push notifications.
Drawbacks
- It will consume a lot of data which may be very expensive as doorbell cameras have to record the video and save it and most doorbell cameras store only up to 5 minutes of video and they upload the video of the previous time to the cloud storage which utilizes the massive amount of data.
- Smart video doorbells send real-time notifications which require an active internet connection and cellular data fluctuates when the device is a bit far away which does not allow you to access the smart features. You are not able to get real-time notifications which may breach your security.
ii)Use Doorbell camera models with SD storage
You can use some doorbell cameras with older models such as some models of Ring and Nest that don’t require an internet connection. But, you should keep in mind that you won’t be able to access live streaming on your device due to the unavailability of the internet and you can’t even get push notifications and other smart features that are real-time.
So, you can get smart doorbell cameras that have built-in SD cards to save live recordings from the cameras. Because motion sensors in the cameras detect the motion and record the video. This way, you don’t need to have the internet to upload the live streaming to the cloud and all the data will be stored in your SD card which you can transfer to your laptop and insert the card again into the doorbell.
Drawbacks
These doorbell video cameras only record motion-triggered videos. You cannot use it for remote monitoring round the clock.
