You have undoubtedly run into the problem of reaching for the remote to turn up the volume to hear dialogue adequately just to rush and turn it down when the action starts popping off.
Loud commercials or volume shifts when channel changes have been so annoying after the reality shows on television. It is disturbing especially at night and drives me crazy as well.
Here are a few fixes for keeping the volume constant and keeping commercials at unchanging volume.
How to keep TV volume constant ( Fix loud commercials)
This has been a very serious problem and so many people are concerned that even Congress is trying to pass legislation to get this under control but as with many other pieces of legislation, it’s only part of the solution.

Tru volume, a technology developed by SRS Labs controls level shifts in your home and in the TV set boxes and gets under control where it really makes sense because you can regulate the volume at one TV station and you cannot control hundreds of channels.

If there are various sources attached to your TV like a DVD player or Blu-ray player or Game Console, and every source is operating at a different volume when you change the input, the volume is going to shift.
1)Use External Mixer
These compact devices like external mixers keep the sound constant overall but they increase overall sound volume. When you connect these external audio mixers to your device like a gaming console, your DJing board, or your TV, it automatically mixes the sound and keeps it constant overall.
Mixers are usually used by DJs who have to integrate two tracks in a natural way so that both songs are controlled in terms of volume, sound frequency, and pitch. So, when the audience is busy listening and enjoying the concert, they don’t feel any change in tracks.
A commercial usually mixes sound, frequency, and pitch at the same level. TV sound regulators/mixers increase the sound massively and shift it way louder and you feel it constant overall but you have to control it manually from your remote at various times.

2) Fix the Control Switch
One thing for your TV volume or channel unchanging is the control switch getting stuck in one position. It can be found on the back of your television.
Move the switch up and down while pressing the switch. It will loosen the control switch and allow it to move freely.
If TV is still changing the volume or channel, we can investigate whether the problem is in the TV or in the remote control.
Power off the remote. Do it by removing the batteries within it. Now, turn on the TV and check whether the volume changes.
If the TV is still showing the same issue, you can believe that there is no problem with your remote control.
- Now, go to the home settings or menu option on your TV.
- Press “First Time installation.”

- First of all, go into the back cover and disconnect your cable.
- Here you will find the back cover screwed. You will have to unscrew it and you can use a simple screwdriver to open the cover.
- You will see spread clips from both sides, just pull it out.
- Just remove all the screws and make sure that you don’t feel any resistance. If you do, it means that you have left some screws unopen.
- Now, you will see the power supply board and main board on the back.
- Underneath the back, you will see the IR sensor and button control.
- There could be an issue with the main board or IR sensor.
- Now, you have to implement the following two options and check the situation in both cases.
i)Remove IR Sensor from Control Button
- You have to disconnect the IR sensor from the main control button. Just plug it out.
- Now, it’s time to turn on the TV and check whether the problem is gone or not.
- If the issue has been resolved, then surely the problem is with the control button. You can buy a new one by noting the reference mentioned on the back of it.
ii)Remove IR Sensor from Main Board
- You will first plug in the IR sensor and disconnect the sensor from the main board.
- Now, try to turn on the TV. If the problem is gone, it means that the problem is with the IR sensor.
- You can buy the IR sensor at a very cheap price.
iii)Check Main Board
- There is a microprocessor data bus on the main board which is causing issues to the main board.
