You must have witnessed the issue of AirPods battery drain when not in use. But, have you ever noticed why this happens all the time with your Airpods? 

First of all, you need to understand that this is not the issue with your AirPods or AirPods case. So, you don’t need to worry about this and just relax. AirPods do not turn off automatically and remain active all the time to find any connection to pair with.

Because many people just carelessly leave the Airpods out of their case when they are not using them, this makes it easier for you to lose them. They do not lose the battery enough when not in use as compared to active use.

AirPods usually consume batteries when they are in the case without any use. They also lose the battery when we leave our AirPods connected to any of our devices.

TIP: You should put the AirPods back in their cases when they are not in use especially. Because they should get proper relaxation and fair charging.

Avoid draining your AirPods to 0% because it may damage the battery. So the recommended way to charge again is with a battery of 10-15%.

TIP:

  1. First, take your AirPods out of their case.
  2. Clean the AirPods case from the inside and through the bottom with Q-tip.
  3. Take a blower and clean every corner and also blow in the bottom.

Turn off Bluetooth when Airpods are not in use

Airpods keep their connection alive and remain active even when they’re not in use. This is because they cannot be turned off and always try to find a connection.

AirPods have no external switch which keeps the AirPods running all the time.

Bluetooth can  be turned off in the following way:

  • By asking Siri.
  • By using device settings.

TIP: Just turn off the Bluetooth connection when you finish using up. If you do not turn off the Bluetooth then forget the AirPods connection. This will save much of your AirPods battery.

TIP: AirPods work as dual charge source providers when they are connected with a charging and power adapter, and when they alone provide the charging to the AirPods. So, why not put your AirPods back in their cases when not in use? and If AirPods’ case is lost, AirPods can be charged without case.

  • GO to your setting
  • Open Bluetooth
  • Toggle Automatic Ear Detection to Off.

Set the Double-Tap AirPod command to OFF

This command is turned on mode and drains the battery.

TIP: It should be turned off.

To turn off the Double-Tap AirPod command, follow the steps below:

  • Go to setting 
  • Open Bluetooth 
  • Turn off Double-Tap AirPod

You should configure it for both AirPods separately.
